Giveaways and Christmas Wisdom You Can Use

Writing friends are amazing! Today I'm sending you to a couple of hot spots on the web so you can judge for yourself.

Courtney and I with "our" agent in the middle
Dear, dear friend, Courtney Walsh, is giving away stuff, and I mean LOTS of stuff on her blog this week and next. Today is a multi-gift giveaway for the creative soul, and she's giving away Broken Wings and a jazzy 3 CD-set of Harry Connick, Jr. and several scrapbooking lovers items, including the scrapbooking book she authored. Like I said, very cool. Look for her other giveaways coming up too!

Courtney's Blog

My friend Judy Christie is a prolific novelists AND writes non-fiction AND she has the most wonderful sense of humor. She's a joy to be around and has some great advice from her new book Hurry Less, Worry Less, at Christmas which she shared on Inspire A Fire. You'll love this!

I'm trying to be more intentional this year and did a minimal amount of decorating, but I did set out the nativity sets.  I love the simplicity of this one.

Have a great weekend!

I'm off to the American Christian Fiction Writers Conference in St. Louis this week. I'll come back with the smell of the Mississippi clinging to my clothes and be a whole lot richer in spirit for having been with 700 of the smartest, nicest, most talented people in America - See you next week!

Opportunity Knocks

Just a quick post to tell you about some terrific opportunities for free books right now.

My friend Lynne Gentry's debut novel, Reinventing Leona, which I told you about here is available for a limited time for FREE on Kindle. Don't miss out.

And two blogs are currently featuring giveaways of my book Broken Wings. Check out my interview on Susan Meissner's blog, Edgewise, for details. And visit Dragonflies 'n Daydreams - the cyber home of Lesley Peck. This is a really cute blog that also has a short review. Both drawings end soon, so if you've not gotten a copy of Broken Wings yet, this might be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

And of course, it's always available for purchase - - -

A couple of corrections

I'm always nervous when I pre-post something here about events before they actually happen. And since I was in Maui last week, I wanted to dig my toes in the sand and sip Mai Tais on the beach and stay as far away from the computer as possible. I should have paid better attention to my calendar and taken better care of you, my readers.

So, here is the revised list of spots where Broken Wings can be found today.
  • Still have a giveaway going on over at Trish Perry's blog, True Love, Real Laughs, Pure Fiction. Lovely blog.
  • Janalyn Voigt's blog has moved!!! She's now at Novel Books and has a giveaway going on the rest of the week. There I've written a letter to readers, so please stop by and say hi.
I'll also be on the RT Book Reviews Inspirational spotlight and at SouthernBelleView this week, but I'll wait until I have those links so I'm not sending you skipping all over the galaxy. And next week, there are some other stops so please stay tuned. Several copies of Broken Wings are still up for grabs around the bloggy world - I'll try to help you track them down.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Giveaways and A First Time Experience For Me

Counting down to release date of Chasing Lilacs. SIX days. Long enough for a quick trip to Europe. Or for beans to sprout in the garden. Or for a hatchling robin to sprout half its feathers. And all of these things are infinitely more impressive that the release of my book. That's what I keep telling myself. I'm not counting the days. . . really I'm not. And besides, I've been too busy to do much counting.

First off, there's been a happy flurry of blog posts popping up this week. Interviews. Book blurbs. Stuff about me. AND GIVEAWAYS. It's not too late to enter the drawings to win a copy of Chasing Lilacs.

Here's a quick rundown of the blog posts from this week:

Elizabeth Ludwig's THE BORROWED BOOK: An interview and Book Drawing.

Janalyn Voigt's MEET AND GREET MONDAY at BOOK READERS CENTRAL

Guest Post on Creating Characters on THE SEEKERS: With Book Giveaway

Cathy Bryant's WORD VESSEL: Book Giveaway

Heidi Main's Blog: Fun Interview.

Lena Nelson Dooley's A CHRISTIAN WRITER'S WORLD: Interview and Giveaway

I'm in awe of each of these lovely bloggers creativity and devotion to promoting Christian fiction. They asked some tough questions, too. Things like: How do you respond to criticism? Who are you favorite authors? What is the quirkiest thing you've ever done? I hope you'll stop by and say hi at some of these beautiful blogs.

Yesterday was a first for me and hence the picture at the top of this post. I had my first live radio interview!! Jill Hart and Diana Ennen at CHRISTIAN WORK AT HOME MOMS, INC. interviewed me about Chasing Lilacs and my writing journey. They were fun and lively. Sweet, gracious ladies. I was . . . well . . . nervous. But I made it through and had a great time. One of the hints I'd been given was to smile when I was talking, the rationale being that even though I wouldn't be seen, the smile comes through in the conversation. I hope it did. The link is not up yet for you to listen, but when it is, I will add it to my sidebar.

All in all, a great week! Now, if I can just hold it together for six more days, I'll be home free - Ha!

Have a great weekend. Hope it includes something fun and relaxing.
