DID YOU VOTE TODAY?

It's been an amazing, complicated political season, and many things about the future of our nation hang in the balance. I've heard the debates, studied the issues, and prayed about my vote. Never have I felt so strongly that we need to heed the voice of God when he appeared to Solomon by night and spoke these words. " . . . if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)

We need God more than ever. We live in the most fantastic nation on earth. We have untold freedom, opportunity, and the right to choose who will lead our nation in what will surely be troubled days ahead. However you vote, do not deny yourself this right to be heard. And rest in the assurance that whatever the outcome, those elected are there by the sovereign plan of God. A God who loves us beyond anything we can imagine.

Vote. Pray. Give thanks.

God bless America.

I'm heading uptown in about an hour to exercise the amazing freedom I have to cast a ballot. Though this election season has drawn out forever, and though so many negative and hurtful things have been tossed back and forth, from a local to a national level, we are still a blessed people with a voice in our government.

I plan to have my say in the ballot booth!

Amen, Carla. Well said.

This morning I read this from Jeremiah 27:5: "With my great power and outstretched arm I made the earth and its people and the animals that are in it, and I will give it to anyone I please." It was a great reminder that God is indeed in control, and we can rest in that knowledge regardless of who wins the election. So thankful we can trust Him!!

We actually voted early, as that was an option in our state. I'm with you on II Chronicles 7:14. We have to realize, that isn't talking about the world system. It's talking about God's people. If we will humble ourselves & pray, & seek God's face, and turn from our wicked ways... May we say, with the Psalmist, "Search me, O Lord, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

*hugs*
